This paper charts a historiography of schoalrship on interior office design from roughly 1904 to the present. Dividing writing on the office into three camps (Architectural, Psychological and Labor-oriented), the paper argues that significant gaps esxist in the scholarship, specifically surrounding the dual nature of the office as physical and experiential reality for workers.
